Overview

The Line Experience is on a mission to help individuals experience the joy and freedom of riding bikes. We provide low-cost bike rentals and skill building areas to progress in the sport while creating a welcoming community for riders of all levels. We also pay attention to the human-bike connection, and are known for excellent suspension service, bike-fitting, and custom bike builds.

Located in North Bend, Washington, our Experience Center is the gateway to PNW outdoor recreation. We promote responsible use of local parks and trails, providing equipment, coaching, and services to make biking accessible for everyone.    

Job Summary: As the Rental Fleet Manager at The Line, you will be the driving force behind delivering exceptional rental experiences that exceed customer expectations. Your primary focus will be to ensure that every rider, whether a first-time visitor or experienced cyclist, has access to a premium, dialed-in bike and a seamless, personalized rental process. You will oversee all aspects of the rental program across multiple locations—including a fleet of over 100 high-performance bicycles—ensuring that every detail, from bike selection to suspension setup, is tailored to create an outstanding and memorable ride. This includes managing the rental product assortment to match local terrain and customer needs, leading employee training to maintain high-quality service standards, and implementing systems that drive consistency and satisfaction across every rental interaction. 

Responsibilities include:  

  • Customer Experience Leadership: Design and deliver a best-in-class rental experience, with an emphasis on personalized setup (suspension tuning, fit adjustments, etc.) that ensures each bike performs optimally for every rider. 

  • Rental Operations Oversight: Manage daily rental operations across multiple locations, ensuring the process is efficient, friendly, and aligned with our commitment to rider satisfaction. 

  • Fleet Management & Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance, mechanical integrity, and safety of the rental and demo fleets. Ensure all bikes are ride-ready, secure, and consistently meet performance standards. 

  • Staff Training & Development: Train and coach rental staff to deliver consistent, high-touch service with a focus on bike setup knowledge, customer interaction, and product expertise. 

  • Inventory Planning & Logistics: Select and rotate bikes to match seasonal needs and location demand. Coordinate fleet logistics between sites and manage transportation of equipment. 

  • Demo & Specialty Programs: Operate and expand demo bike programs, pop-up rental events, and specialty fleet initiatives to grow engagement and increase brand reach. 

  • Process & System Improvement: Develop and implement systems, policies, and technologies to improve efficiency, tracking, and customer satisfaction in the rental process. 

  • Budget & Vendor Management: Set department budgets, monitor performance, and negotiate vendor contracts to ensure financial goals and fleet quality standards are met. 

  • Reporting & Collaboration: Collaborate with Retail Operations and other departments to align goals, prepare performance reports, and drive innovation in the rental space. 

Essential Duties

  • Manage the rental bike operation systems and processes, specifically Bike Rental Manager, Lightspeed, Office and Teams.  

  • Be responsible for regular rental bicycle service checks, all rental bike service needs and on the spot bike repairs. 

  • Coordinate programs, scheduling and operations excellence with retail operations and service. 

  • Coordinate promotional programs with marketing and social media.  

  • Support the hiring and management employees for the rental staff, bike assembly and service/assembly with the Service and Retail Operations Managers 

  • Identify opportunities for optimization and growth for the rental business. 

  • Responsible for working with the Retail Operations Manager to ensure retail products at all locations meet customer demand. 

  • Coordination of rental location appearance and functions  

 Additional Job Requirements:

  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours as needed to meet customer demand. 

  • Regularly scheduled attendance.

 Qualifications:  

  • Deep passion for bikes and creating unforgettable cycling experiences 

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in bike maintenance and suspension setup 

  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams across multiple locations 

  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal abilities 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Teams, POS, and rental/retail systems 

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills 

  • Ability to travel between rental locations, with bikes and manage a dynamic workload 

  • Relevant work experience in the bike industry or other retail setting 

  • Experience with project management with multiple competing priorities 

  • Excellent organizational skills  

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution  

  • Background check is required.

  • Riding bikes  

  • Operate typical office equipment, including computers. 

  • Standing for extended periods up to an entire work shift 

  • Bend, lift, open, and move products and fixtures up to 50 pounds frequently during work shifts

Hourly position starting at $25/hour DOE.
