Senior Retail Sales Associate
Location: North Bend, Washington
Job Summary: We're looking for a Senior Retail Sales Associate who brings both deep product knowledge and genuine selling ability. A meaningful part of our sales process involves getting customers on bikes — reading what they need, setting them up correctly, and guiding them through the experience so the product sells itself. You'll own that process, contribute to a high-functioning retail floor, and help develop the team's product and fitting fluency.
The Line Experience is a full-service bicycle retail, rental, and service operation based in North Bend, WA — at the doorstep of some of the Pacific Northwest's most celebrated trail systems. We work with riders across every discipline and skill level, and we take the job seriously. Our team is knowledgeable, our inventory is curated, and our standard of service is high.
Responsibilities:
Deliver expert, consultative sales across bikes, accessories, and apparel — matching customers to the right products based on riding style, goals, and fit
Manage and facilitate demo bike experiences: customer intake, bike setup, sizing, pre-ride briefing, and post-ride follow-through
Maintain comprehensive product knowledge across categories — with particular depth in the Transition lineup and the terrain it's designed for
Convert demo and trial experiences into confident purchase decisions through informed, low-pressure guidance
Help onboard and develop junior team members on product, sales technique, and customer engagement
Keep the retail floor and demo fleet organized, trail-ready, and operationally sharp
Support inventory accuracy, tagging, and basic reporting in the POS system
Represent the brand with professionalism across every customer interaction
Requirements:
2+ years in retail sales — bike, outdoor, or sporting goods preferred
Serious enthusiasm for bicycles across disciplines, backed by real product knowledge
Familiarity with Transition Bikes, Pivot Cycles or comparable high-end MTB brands is a strong plus
Experience with bike fitting, sizing, and setup — you know how a bike should feel on a rider
Strong consultative communication skills; comfortable with a wide range of customers
Detail-oriented and dependable in a high-traffic, fast-moving environment
Familiarity with POS and inventory management systems
A strong candidate may also bring prior experience running or supporting a demo program, service writing or coaching background, bilingual or multilingual ability, or formal retail/sales training.
The Line offers a competitive pay, health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off and holidays, and employee discounts on bikes and retail products.
Hourly – $24/hr + performance bonus eligibility. Full-time, weekends required.
Join our team at The Line Experience and help riders find the right bike for their next adventure!
