Senior Retail Associate

Location: North Bend, Washington  

Job Summary: As a Senior Retail Associate at The Line, you are a key player in shaping the customer experience and retail culture. Your mission is to create an engaging, informative, and welcoming space that helps people discover cycling and feel confident in their purchase. You will lead by example on the sales floor while also supporting fellow team members in product knowledge and best-in-class retail practices. Your role bridges customer engagement, product curation, shop systems, and team development.  

The Line Experience is on a mission to help individuals experience the ​joy and freedom of riding bikes. We provide the gear, service, knowledge and low-cost bike rentals and skill building areas ​to progress in the sport​ while creating a welcoming community for riders of all levels​.  Our bike rental Kiosks in local parks and bike rentals in our North Bend location make it easy for people to get on and ride a bike.  

Located in North Bend, Washington, our Experience Center and Trailhead locations are gateways to PNW outdoor recreation. We believe biking is for everyone, and we encourage the responsible use and appreciation of local parks and green spaces. From the Snoqualmie Valley Trail to local world-class singletrack, we provide equipment, coaches, services, and trail expertise to bring mountain and gravel biking to everyone.   

  

Responsibilities:  

  • Customer Experience & Sales 

    • Deliver exceptional service by engaging every customer with curiosity, energy, and expert guidance. 

    • Match customers with the right bikes, accessories, and apparel through thoughtful questions and product recommendations. 

    • Educate customers on product features, sizing, maintenance, and ride tips. 

    • Foster a shop culture that is welcoming to cyclists of all backgrounds, skill levels, and goals. 

     

    Product Curation & Merchandising 

    • Stay current on new products, technology, and trends across bikes, gear, and apparel. 

    • Support thoughtful product selection and presentation to meet the needs of your local riding community. 

    • Assist with merchandising and in-store displays that reflect quality, relevance, and approachability. 

     

    Team Training & Development 

    • Support onboarding and training new staff on sales techniques, customer engagement, and product knowledge. 

    • Organize and lead regular product education sessions (e.g., new product deep-dives, vendor training, sales refreshers). 

    • Act as a go-to resource for staff questions about bikes, gear, fit, and shop systems. 

     

    Operations & Inventory Support 

    • Maintain well-organized storage and retail spaces, including inventory zones and backstock. 

    • Support receiving, tagging, and tracking of inventory with precision and accountability. 

    • Contribute to sales reporting, restocking strategies, and data entry as needed. 

    • Help refine and improve shop systems to better support sales, training, and the customer journey. 
       

Requirements:  

  • 2+ years in retail sales, preferably in the bike, outdoor, or sporting goods space. 

  • Strong product knowledge across multiple bike categories and an eagerness to learn more. 

  • Experience or passion for training and mentoring others in a retail or team environment. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-first mindset. 

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Familiarity with POS systems, inventory management, and reporting tools. 

  • Enthusiasm for bicycling, ideally mountain or gravel biking 

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds  

Additional Optional Qualifications: 

  • Background in bicycle fitting, service writing, or riding instruction. 

  • Formal sales or retail training experience. 

  • Bilingual or multilingual.

Hourly – Starting at $24/hour full-time, weekends required.
