Be Prepared! Wildnerness First Aid Course

You never know what's going to happen in the wild. Be prepared for anything by getting Wilderness First Aid certified. Our hybrid course offers 8 hours of self-guided online learning and one day of learning in the field.

For this course, we’ll have covered space to gather for lecture along with indoor space to warm up and use the restroom. Arete Cafe will be open for food & beverage purchase.

What you'll get out of the course:

-Gain the skills to treat common injuries, illness, and trauma in the field.

-Build your confidence in dealing with stressful situations in the wild.

-Learn how to help your friends or other adventurers if they get hurt.

-Earn a Wilderness First Aid certification from Base Medical

Location: The Line Bicycle Experience, North Bend, WA

What to expect:

Complete your online learning when you want and where you want. Online work and exam must be completed prior to in-person praticum.

Head out into the field with Head of Adventures Jason, our Base Medical-trained instructor. Walk through real-life scenarios. Learn the practical application of first aid tools and strategies. Learn how to treat common injuries and illnesses (like sprained ankles and stomach troubles, to name a few). Get hands-on practice and be prepared to act if your best day ever becomes a worst-case scenario.  

Following completion of in-person class and final exam you will receive a certification through Base Medical and, most importantly, the skills to assist yourself, a friend or another adventurer in need of medical attention.

Be prepared, What to Bring: we will be outside all day!

  • Rain Gear

  • Warm Layers

  • Water, Lunch, Snacks (food & hot beverages available onsite)

  • Daypack with things you commonly take hiking or mountain biking

  • Cloths that can get a little dirty. (we will be outside in the dirt as well as using a little makeup to simulate wounds)
